Transport to the Farmers’ Market - Hastings

For many people the St Leonard’s area is considered to be within easy reach of Hastings town centre where a monthly farmers’ market is held. However, many older people were not able to make the trip without transport.

The team approached community transport company Hastings Area Transport (HAT) which agreed to try a new route from St Leonard’s to Hastings town centre, with a drop-off point next to the farmers’ market.

The team agreed the route, timetable, fares and a provisional start date, and publicised the route. The bus service was a great success.
