Asplands Medical Centre - Bedfordshire
The practice has trained its practice nurses and health visitors on identification of depression and anxiety disorders, stepped care, the self-help approach and the use of the Hospital Anxiety and Depression (HAD) Scale. They plan to repeat this for district nurses in the near future. As part of the process mapping exercise in Bedfordshire the site agreed to explore the role of the receptionist to identify and triage patients, in order to ‘fast track’ those with mild to moderate anxiety or depression.
